SmartTrack Learning Solutions was developed by educators who understand the central role written communication plays in academic reasoning, organization, and the demonstration of learning.
Written assignments require students to interpret directions, identify expectations, organize ideas, develop reasoning, use support, revise language, and present understanding in a clear written form.
As generative AI and other technologies increasingly shape how students approach written work, preserving the academic processes behind writing has become increasingly important. Students need opportunities to practice the reading, reasoning, organization, drafting, and revision that strong written communication requires.
SmartTrack Academic Playbooks make the structure of written assignments more explicit for students while preserving teacher expectations, classroom instruction, and academic integrity.
Founder
For more than 25 years, my work in education—as a professor, administrator, and academic program leader—has centered on a persistent challenge: students may understand the material yet still struggle to independently manage the process required to produce strong written work.
That distinction became the foundation for SmartTrack. The goal was not to generate answers or reduce the intellectual demands of writing, but to make the academic process sufficiently explicit and structured that students could navigate it independently—from interpreting the assignment through organizing ideas, developing reasoning, composing the response, and evaluating the finished work.
SmartTrack Academic Playbooks were developed around that principle: provide the structure, preserve the thinking, and keep responsibility for the written work with the student.
